Hypnotherapy
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation, focused attention, and deep concentration to achieve a heightened state of awareness, often called a trance. In this state of hypnosis, you are more receptive to positive suggestions, allowing you to resolve issues including anxiety, phobias, stress, limiting beliefs, and unwanted habits.
By accessing the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy can help reframe negative thought patterns, promote relaxation, aid self-healing, and support personal growth.
"Hypnotherapy helps rewire neural pathways and gives your natural neuroplasticity the chance to rebuild your brain's thought processes, creating positive behavioural and emotional changes."
The NHS acknowledges that hypnosis can be helpful for a variety of conditions, such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), anxiety, and pain management. The Royal College of Psychiatrists also notes that hypnotherapy can help with PTSD/CPTSD, insomnia, addictions, phobias, and a range of other issues that may impact your psychological wellbeing.

What Does
Hypnosis Feel Like?
Hypnosis feels slightly different for everyone, but overall, it is a deeply relaxed yet highly focused state. During hypnosis you are not unconscious or out of control, in fact, quite the opposite—with the guidance of your hypnotherapist, you will take conscious steps that allow you to explore and address your anxieties, gently approaching the issues that you have chosen to tackle at your own pace.
Most people remain aware of their surroundings and that they are undergoing hypnosis, but are deeply absorbed in their practitioner's voice and the sense of calm that comes with it.
Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe—we all drift in and out of trance states multiple times throughout the day.
"With the guidance of your hypnotherapist, you will take conscious steps that allow you to explore and address your anxieties, gently approaching the issues that you have chosen to tackle at your own pace."
